Do I have to cosplay?
No, Cosplay is not required at all! We encourage all attendees who wish to cosplay to take advantage of the various photoshoots, and cosplay related events throughout the day.
Can I have a weapon as part of my costume?
PLEASE NOTE: The Goodman Center hosts many children and family events and does not allow realistic military/police cosplays on the property.

Prop weapons are allowed at Chizu Con provided they are appropriately marked. Appropriate use and marking of prop weapons is at the discretion of Chizu Con staff and includes, but is not limited to the following: no live metals, realistic guns or military/police equipment, or live flames. Please follow any further directions provided by Chizu Con or Goodman Center staff as they arise. Be aware of and follow all city and state laws when designing and bringing your cosplay.
Do I need to know how to play to attend?
No previous gaming experience is necessary. There will be a variety of difficulty levels, so everyone will have game options fitting their level or experience.
Convention staff or volunteers may also be available to assist with gaming questions.
What about pets?
There are no pets allowed inside the Center. Emotional support is not a protected class under state law. Service animals are allowed, and staff will be notified of it's attendance. Please click here see the Wisconsin ADA laws for more information.
Is the convention handicap accessible?
Yes, most areas of the center used by Chizu Con are handicap accessible. There is only one area that is not; the Mezzanine area which will be used as additional common space for attendees.
Are there hotels available?
Chizu Con has a room block available at the AmericInn (by Wyndham) South, Monona call 608-222-8601 to book, reserved until July 26th, 2024.
King & Queen beds open for both Friday and Saturday night.
Are there places to eat nearby?
Madison has a great variety of food options, from burgers to sushi you can always find something to fit your cravings.

Where can I park?
There are 2 parking lots at the Goodman Center. One is at our Chizu building, Ironworks, and the other is diagonal across the street at Brassworks. There is also plenty of street marking with no weekend parking limitations. Please see the map below for our closest parking availability.
